Ingredients
- Peel of 1 orange
- 1 cup of water
- 2 black tea bags
- 2 cups of cranberry juice (no sugar added)
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 2 whole cinnamon sticks (1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 3 whole star anise
- 10 whole cloves
- Rosemary
- Cranberries
Instructions
1. Use a peeler to remove the orange zest strips, leaving the white pith still on the orange. Using entire orange peels can make your mulled tea bitter.
2. Add 1 cup of water to a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn off heat and add 2 tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
3. Reheat the saucepan with the brewed tea to a low simmer. Add cranberry juice, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, and orange peels. Simmer on low for 20 minutes or up to 1 hour.
4. Pour between 2 cups and garnish with cranberries, star anise, cinnamon stick, and a rosemary sprig.
